Welcome to the Transfiguration Greek Orthodox church in Charlottesville, Virginia.
We are located approximately 100 miles south of Washington DC and have been working with the Orthodox community in Central Virginia for more than 75 years.

Father Gabriel is generally in his office at the church hall, Tuesday through Friday, from approximately 10:30 AM to 3:30 PM. Currently, Catechism is held on Tuesdays at 6:30PM via Zoom --the current class is ongoing and full. There are also evening/weekend appointment times but those are by appointment only. If Father is not at the Church or in his office, please call the Church Office at 434-295-5337 and leave a message. Father Gabriel will return your calls as soon as possible.
Father Gabriel is also available to schedule a visit to your home/hospital (e.g., for a house blessing; before a surgery) or in the event of emergency, Father will go to the hospital. Please call the Church Office at 434-295-5337 and leave a message for him to arrange for an appointment or visit. You may also email him at: Father Gabriel--Visit request. IMPORTANT: In the event of any Pastoral Emergency (sickness, death in the family/close friend, hosptialization, etc.) please call Father Gabriel directly on his cellphone: 434-964-8646 - please leave a message; if there is no answer, Father will return your call as soon as possible.
